Stick #6 and #7

6 was neg but i took 7 tonight with a different brand. I might be kidding myself with the faintest of second lines. It says to wait 3 days before testing again so ill see if i can wait that long…its now 6days past when i thought i should have started my new cycle. It could just be my body adjusting to going off the pill though. We will see…

Waiting

Because im trying to get knocked up i see signs that i am everywhere. I know its just because im looking but according to my count im one day late and my nipples are still tender and have been for over a week. I took my last test on Monday and it was negative.  Im debating whether to take another one today or wait a few more days as my calculations are based on an odd mid month period i had after going off the pill.

I am also concious that I keep planning to do things next year but if i get preggers then those plans are going to have to change. Its like when you are in a relationship and aren’t sure whether or not to plan an overseas trip in 6 months. Will you still be together? But i guess im just going to have to plan and not commit too much money that i cant get back.

BD also told me that he will be on the highway for three weeks over Christmas so i will have to amuse myself. My thought is cleaning out the spare rooms. ImageThe one im planning to use as a nursery (haven’t run this by him yet) is chocked with his boxes and a large double bed. My plan is to condense it into one or two boxes and move it into the other spare room which has my things in it. My idea for a nursery is a multi age room. No baby animals, no winni the pooh. I want it to be nice for me as well as baby/toddler/small child.  I defonatley will not have toys everywhere. Im one of these optimistic mothers who thinks i can live in a clean house 😛 Basically when ever i go to someone else’s house they can barely sit on the furniture or walk because of all the toys. They don’t need that many! My idea is to get a side unit with baskets in it. Once its full, that’s it!

Mothering

I will be waging a war on pink. I hate that every single little girl i know is only dressed in pink and purple, yuck. When there are so many pritty colors out there why on earth would i chose pink! So thats my rant for today. Tomorrow i have the day off so will catch up on my knitting. Have to finish a right bootie then get to work on the cardigan i have been knitting for like a year lol Me thinks i need to practice more and get faster at it! Also, how cute is Prince George! I think we will get our kid christened, we arent religious even though i was brought up that way. But i think its a good idea because then they can choose when they get older. Plus its a good excuse to get everyone together and they look cute in christening gowns 🙂

Peed on a stick #5

After realising i was peeing on a stick wrong i did it the right way yesterday. Waited a whole hour just to make sure, negative. Im assuming thats it for a few weeks. If i have worked it out right then i should be due to start a new cycle this week. I have it marked in the calender. The best time to try is 14days after the start of your period, which is also 14day before your next one. So thats my aim, dress sexy that day lol.

To fill the time i have been looking at baby crap. Has anyone noticed that prams tend to be less cribs on wheels and more mobile command centres! Good grief. There are attachments, covers, double, single, dual, wide, narrow, they even have cup holders! Im looking in the lower price range but i want more than one kid so im also looking at ones that can accomodate two seats. The one i have found has attachments for the top to accomodate front or rear facing baby, car seats and bassinet seats, the handle has 7 positions and it comes with a bonus seat for the base which can fit a second kid. $499. Thats alot but at the same time if we can make it stretch for 5yrs and two kids then thats not bad. http://babyco.com.au/strollers/beema-duo-stroller.html

I decided against the jogging pram, although it is easier to manouver it only takes one kid so your screwed if you have a second. I often look at prams and wonder how they intend to get those things through doors or down supermarket isles…

I also like the matching car seat which works for kids up to 4yrs old. http://babyco.com.au/baby-convertible-seats/safe-n-sound-compaq-carseat-apple.html It is rear facing for the first year then turns and adjusts to fit a larger child. Again, saves money on buying a new one as they get bigger. Of course all of this will go out the window if i end out with twins…I really hate the double prams so i might stick with this one and get a sling for one kid until they are a little bigger.

Wholy crap batman!

Ok so reading other blogs is helpful. I just found out that i have been taking the tests wrong!!! I have been assuming that when that first pink line comes up after a few seconds, then thats it. But apparently that just means the test is working. You are actually meant to wait the full 3-10mins for the second line to show…I am now trying to generate more pee to take another one as the one i look a few mins ago is in the tampon bin as im at work and im not fishing it out. Gulp!

Peed on a stick #4

Ok i think im addicted to peeing on sticks. I found some extra cashola and went to buy some more sticks. Peed on one, negative. Thats stick #4. The reason im using so many is that my periods are irregular so i have no way of knowing when i should use a stick. According to my calender i should have had my period two weeks ago but as i just came off the pill things are a little up in the air. Oh well. Heres to next weeks stick 😛 Is it odd to start naming them haha

Welcome

A little about me and this blog. I started this as a way for myself and other first time mumma’s to share something of the experience. My boyfriend and I decided to give this parenting thing a go nearly two months ago. Im not pregnant yet but hoping to be soon. And lets face it, getting pregnant is half the adventure. Im terrible actually, i take a test pritty much weekly! The ones that i have are early detection so can test possitive after only one week rather than the normal ones which can only detect after 14days. I have looked up the chances of me getting knocked up and frankly im shocked anyone manages it. I lay an egg once a month and it lives for just 24hrs. Its not all bad news though, apparently his little swimmers can live from 1-3days so as long as we are doing it 2-3 times a week we should be all set.

As to knowing if you are knocked up apparently symptoms dont show until you are about a month along. These are actually the same symptoms you get when you are about to get your period so mother nature is quite mean, you expect a baby and get your period, thats just mean lol But right now my nipples are quite sore which is a symptom but also something i get when i go off the pill because my hormones go crazy. I have to wait until payday this thursday to test though so fingers crossed.

As to how the decision was made. Well it went like this”

Me: When are we going to have babies?

BD (Baby daddy): When you stop putting those pills in your mouth.

Me: Fine ill go off them today

BD: Fine

Me: Fine

Yeah we have an interesting relationship haha. Then just to double check we had another conversation that afternoon”

Me: If i go off these and get knocked up and you turn around and say you were only joking ill have to kill you.

BD: *laughs*

So it was settled. I stopped them that day and according to the packet was fertile the next day. I then had my period twice in a month though so no idea where im at in my cycle 😛 Heres my bio:

Name: Lets call me Jaz

Age: 28yrs old

Body: 110kg and 5’6. Doc told me to lost weight to have a bub so im trying to eat well but no loss yet…

Background: Im a librarian and grudgingly staying in my boring government job so that i can get maternity leave (Whoot). My partner and I have been together only 7months but have lived together for 4 of those and known each other since College when he dated my bestie…i know right. We are both at the age (he is 31) where we want kids and are prepared to take the risk to get them. He had 5 neices so i know he is great with kids. I have always wanted to be a mum and cant think of a better time to take the leap.

As for the baby. Twins arent out of the picture. Both of my grandparents were twins although no one since has had them. And the BD has cousins and grandparents who are twins but again no one since. His parents have 5 grand daughters and no grandsons so they are counting on us for boys lol My family consists of me, my older sister and a younger brother but with no kids yet (much to mums displeasure). I previously worked in childcare so know how hard it can be to look after kids but i loved it. My kids will be reading harry potter and Tamora Pierce i assure you. I have already been looking at Etsy and baby shops for the essentials and am trying to make good decisions on long life items. I know im not preggers yet but there is no harm in looking, right?
